Described by an English Lady as a place replete with “character and romance”, Welcomheritage Panjim Pousada is a relative oasis of tranquility amongst the hustle-bustle of busy streets. It has the distinction of being one of the few Hindu houses in a predominantly Catholic precinct in Asia’s only Latin Quarter of Fontainhas. Initially rebuilt in the 1930’s, this was the Ancestral Home of the well-to-do Ghanekar Family.
The central “chowk” or courtyard, the Tulsi plant and signature interiors of a traditional Hindu home have been nurtured with affection to recreate the ambience and aura of a gentile Hindu Mansion of the Colonial Era. An aging breadfruit tree in the front Courtyard provides a touch of green to a heavily built locale.
The Hotel has 9 highly individual rooms. The flooring is a harmonious blend of mosaic and the decor, a mix of the old world and antique. Modern Art, period furniture and furnishing are endemic to the property. Coupled with modern facilities all efforts have been made to provide the visitor with a warm and comfortable stay. The serenity and relative tranquility of this period House can be fathomed only by personal experience.
For six months the Panjim Inn has been my home - and a wonderfully welcoming and comforting home. It has been, as a refuge from distressing circumstances outside. People say "You won't ever want to come to Goa, again after what you've been through". But my answer is that I could happily retire here, thanks to my experience of the Panjim Inn.

Having arrived feeling tired and fairly fed up with travel in India, we leave after a week with only one regret - that we can't stay longer. Lovely building, beautifully maintained and very clean - a real delight. We found staff and management helpful, friendly. Knowledgeable without even being pushy. Keep up the good work, we look forward to visiting again during the dry season too!

We will be missing Goa many times in the future.Thank you for all your hospitality and kindness. As you said, your place felt more like home than a hotel.

Absolutely beautiful, I would come back to Goa just to stay at Panjim Inn again. This experience shall reach the far away realms of New York City and Mexico through our (my) telling. Keep it as it is. Thank you!

A surprising, wonderful and entertaining establishment. Encouraging to see preservation rather than modernisation. Best wishes for the future and thanks to the friendly staff. I hope to return again.
