WelcomHeritage Panjim Inn

Built in the 1880s, Welcomheritage Panjim Inn is amongst the first big Colonial Mansions of Fontainhas. A Catholic home, it was built by Francis Assis D’Silveira, a Landed Gentleman and Successful Businessman and has been owned by the same family over 5 generations. It has been diligently renovated and restored to recapture the nostalgia, distinctiveness and elegant old-world charm of an era long gone bye.

This Heritage Hotel has 24 spacious rooms, each individual in character. Modern facilities include wi-fi, airconditioning, ensuite bathrooms which juxtapose with period furniture, Four-Poster beds and carved Rosewood almirahs. Embellishments include Collectibles and Antiques together with fine Art from an in house Art Gallery making for an air of Romance and Colour!

The Verandah Restaurant overlooking the busy street corner is a fine spot for a leisurely drink or the trademark Goan Feni or a mocktail for the teetotaller. Dining good Goan food from this vantage point one can watch the locals go about their mundane pursuits. A little imagination - Down Memory Lane to Better Times, to an old fashioned world of Chivalry and Noblesse Oblige and you can envision youthful Romeos serenading Comely Damsels from below the balcaos or perhaps almost hear the wistful lament of a Portuguese Fado emerge from the Shadows of Twilight.

For six months the Panjim Inn has been my home - and a wonderfully welcoming and comforting home. It has been, as a refuge from distressing circumstances outside. People say "You won't ever want to come to Goa, again after what you've been through". But my answer is that I could happily retire here, thanks to my experience of the Panjim Inn.

Having arrived feeling tired and fairly fed up with travel in India, we leave after a week with only one regret - that we can't stay longer. Lovely building, beautifully maintained and very clean - a real delight. We found staff and management helpful, friendly. Knowledgeable without even being pushy. Keep up the good work, we look forward to visiting again during the dry season too!

We will be missing Goa many times in the future.Thank you for all your hospitality and kindness. As you said, your place felt more like home than a hotel.

Absolutely beautiful, I would come back to Goa just to stay at Panjim Inn again. This experience shall reach the far away realms of New York City and Mexico through our (my) telling. Keep it as it is. Thank you!

A surprising, wonderful and entertaining establishment. Encouraging to see preservation rather than modernisation. Best wishes for the future and thanks to the friendly staff. I hope to return again.
