Grand 300-year – old townhouse, now managed as a homely heritage hotel, with period furniture, sepia family photos, balconies and a common veranda where meals and drinks are served to guests. The same family runs the even more beautiful Panjim Pousada, across the road, an old Hindu house which gives you the chance sample what Panjim must have.
Panjim Peoples : The Panjims Inn’s latest “heritage” venture, opposite the original house (see above) occupies a former high school. It’s more upmarket than their other two wings, but no less appealing for that. The rooms are huge, fitted with antique rosewood furniture, gilded pelmets and lace curtains, and the bathrooms feature the Sukhija family’s hallmark crazy-mosaic tiling. Tariffs mid-season start at around Rs5000 per night.
